Saturday May 26 of Memorial Weekend, it is the Soft Shell Metric Century Bike Ride in Crisfield, MD. Riders can download the registration form here. Jaycees Volunteers will be assigned a Bike Ride Rest Stop serving Gatorade, Peanut Butter Sandwiches and granola bars etc. Its going to be a fun event. Contact President Mike to sign up. Since 2007, Buddy Brooks has been one of the keystones of the Salisbury Jaycees, serving on dozens of committees and the board of directors, raising thousands of dollars for charitable projects and just being an all around great guy.
Now that he has turned 41—surpassing the chapter’s maximum age limit—however, his time in the Jaycees will end on the last day of 2011 (the same day as his current board position). The Jaycees said an early farewell during this year’s Past Presidents Night at Uno Chicago Grill. Highlights during his “Exhausted Rooster” ceremony included stories from President Travis Fisher and Management Director Jason Rhodes, and a photo retrospective courtesy of chapter member Joanne Fisher.
Other highlights included a speech from Chairman of the Board Dave Engelhardt announcing the “Exhaustion” of member Tracy Kelly, who was unable to attend, as well as the first announcement of candidates for the 2012 board of directors.
